Abstract
The chemical properties were investigated for the soils under plastic film houses in the main vegetable and flower forcing areas, Jinju, Gimhae, Masan, Namgi, and Suncheon, aiming at the betterment of soil management. pH values were tended to fluctuate as season proceed and according to locations. Organic matter content was generally in shortage, ranging from 1 to 7%. Although dosages of N-fertilizers were reasonable in all areas studied, careful selection of fertilizers was required in some areas with regared to the ratios of NO©ý-N to NH©þ-N. Vegetable houses were low in Ca content through the areas surveyed, requiring more liming. High E.C value (0.8 mmhos/§¯) of about 60% of the soils sampled indicated the possible injuries by salt accumulation and the necessity to its counter measurement.
